Challaborough Bay holiday park is found right on the beach at Challaborough in South Devon. Challaborough is an excellent beach for a range of different activities from simply relaxing by the sea, to sailing and body boarding.
Challaborough also has several beach side cafes and restaurants which make the perfect place to grab a beachside snack after a day in the ocean. Those who wish to explore the surrounding area will not be left disappointed. The coast path which leads immediately from Challaborough heads to the famous land mark of Bantham and Burgh Island.
Bantham is the South coast’s premier beach break with a long sandy beach awaiting people. Burgh Island boasts a fantastic hotel set on its own island which is accessible at low tide on foot, or by sea tractor at high tide.
Though the surrounding area boasts plenty of natural features to keep people occupied there are quite an assortment of facilities available at the Challaborough Bay holiday park. These include an indoor heated swimming pool for all ages to use, as well as a toddles pool with splish splash activities.
There are also a number of options available for an extra charge such as the Scuba Dive centre and the sauna and solarium. Evening entertainment is also laid on in the Christies family entertainment club which has a range of shows and talent contests arranged in the summer season.
Kids clubs are readily available with the Tots club being available for those up to the age of four, and the Freestylers being available for 10-15’s. Food is also readily available on site with the Big Munch takeaway providing a range of different meals as well as the waterfront bar and restaurant catering to a range of different tastes. Children’s facilities involve amusements as well as sporting activities.
Accommodation is provided in a range of 11 different static caravans which cost up to around £300 per week. One of the static caravans available is the Tern caravan which is very comfortable for families and sleeps up to eight people. This caravan has a double bedroom as well as two twins with heating being provided in the bedrooms.
A good choice for those with a slightly smaller group is the Sandpiper caravan WF which sleeps up to five people and costs from £259 per week. This caravan has a double bedroom as well as a single.
Challaborough Bay has been awarded the David Bellamy Award for Conservation (Silver) and fits perfectly into the natural environment surrounding the park. This is a dog friendly holiday park and pets are charged at £30 per week (or short break) with a maximum of two in the accommodation.Tags:
