Hideaway Lodges are a quiet collection of holiday log cabins near Birkhill which is in West Lothian of Scotland. West Lothian is one of the best places in Scotland to enjoy a holiday. One of these is Edinburgh which is around a 20 minute drive from the lodges. Edinburgh is a historical city with a fantastic university which draws some of the best students from around the world. The city is also famous for its historical buildings, as well as the Edinburgh tattoo which takes place every year.
The Edinburgh tattoo is one of the oldest and largest military parades in the whole of the UK, and is certainly worth a visit. Tickets must be bought early as the event almost always sells out pretty early.
Cities are not the only draw for tourists to the area however with the surrounding highlands providing visitors with a wealth of opportunities for both exploration and outdoor pursuits. Those who like to get out and explore, yet are not necessarily fans of adventurous sports may wish to hike through the highlands, or walk the Glen’s, the possibilities are endless. Other options for exploring include heading to a local pub for a meal and a few pints, or some locally produced Scotch which must be sampled by all visitors.
