Holiday Accommodation & Location Details
Springwater lodges are one of the more exclusive resorts in the range catering for the more upmarket holiday maker in search of peace and quiet, less interested in the pursuit of onsite activities provided by the larger parks such as swimming pools, bars and restaurants.
The spring water lodges are geared towards those who wish to fish with the nearby lake hosting numerous freshwater species such as steel heads, brown and rainbow trout, and fly fishing is available. Fishing is not included in the price but is available all year round.
Accommodation is provided by the Arran lodge which can sleep four people with ease in two bedrooms. The lodges themselves are very spacious and some have specifically designed wheelchair access. All of the lodges have fantastic panoramic views of the fishery lake itself, along with the surrounding countryside. The price to stay at a lodge for one week is £265.
The fact that there is no on site restaurant means you will need to travel to a nearby restaurant or pub for a meal. This is a good option as the Scottish countryside hosts an endless range of restaurants and pubs from simple drinking taverns to more exclusive top end restaurants.
The absence of an onsite restaurant does mean however that access to a car is recommended for all who decide to visit. A good option in the summer months is a barbeque possibly with some of your catch should you have a good day of fishing.
Although marketed as a fishing resort, fishing is not the only activity available to you, with hill walking being a great option to stretch your legs after sitting still for hours with a rod in your hand. Many choose the fishery for fly fishing however which makes for a more energetic day out.Tags:
